Photo challenges are a fun and exciting way to hone your photography skills, learn new techniques, and find inspiration. At The Art of Mindfulness, we have fun with the concept of the “photo challenge” by exploring mindfulness concepts together, and then discovering our own individual voices for expressing what that concept means to each of us by making mindfulness inspired nature photos and sharing them with our community.

Week 21 Challenge Theme

“Stillness”

May 20 – 26, 2024

This week’s mindfulness challenge focuses on “Stillness.” Begin by grounding yourself in the present moment, embracing a sense of calm and tranquility. Reflect on the serene beauty found in moments of stillness and quiet. Direct your lens to capture an image that evokes a sense of peace – a tranquil lake at dawn, the gentle sway of tall grass in a breeze, or the soft glow of a candle’s flame, for example. Embrace the quietude and harmony of this moment, letting its serenity shine through your photograph. Invite the viewer to pause and find a moment of stillness in their own lives.

Mindfulness & Photography: Each week, we explore a different mindfulness theme, and participants are invited to experience these themes and express what the concept means to them by submitting a nature photograph to the challenge community. You’ll have access to the Participant Dashboard where you can log in to read the full details of each challenge.

Deepening Engagement: Members of this tier can log in to their Participant Dashboard to receive the “photo challenge” theme and weekly guided meditations customized to match the theme of the week. The audio recordings allow you to directly experience the weekly mindfulness theme in your meditation practice, and then produce your photograph for that week’s theme with a deeper and more personal understanding of each concept. New audio recordings every Monday!
