NBMP: Nature-Based Mindfulness Practice

Nature-based mindfulness practice is unique in that you can attune to all of your senses with an open quality of awareness. This allows the meditator to connect more deeply with the inner workings of the mind while simultaneously developing a deeper sense of appreciation for the benefits of being quietly and contemplatively immersed in nature. Nature-based practice offers a unique opportunity to strengthen awareness of one’s present-moment experience without all the distractions of modern-day life. In this way, it is much easier to develop a sense of awe and wonder of life on Earth and a desire and inspiration for ways to live in greater harmony with the natural rhythms of life.

The Art of Mindfulness

Where nature photography meets contemplative practice in nature ~ Programs include topics on mindfulness meditation, artistic expression through photography, and the art of photographic storytelling about the natural world for the natural world. Programs are primarily designed to help you develop a more meaningful connection to your own heart and mind as well as a reverent connection to the natural world grounded in love with a drive for stewardship and care.

Mutual Generosity

Many of the programs offered at/by Nature Meditations are grounded in the Buddhist principle of dana, or mutual generosity. These programs are generously offered to the community. In return, the community is invited to generously donate to help support the teacher. Your practice of generosity helps to spread the goodness of these buddhist based practices to others, and you are encouraged to contribute at a level that reflects the value that the sit brings to your own life.
